• Enjoy performances of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and Beethoven’s Fidelio from Glyndebourne’s autumn tour, all presented at the festival’s famous opera house
• Explore the beautiful county of Sussex with visits to houses and galleries, including Bateman’s, once home to Rudyard Kipling
• Develop a greater understanding of each opera in the company of expert Tour Director Nicholas Wearne
a former ACE Bursary student, who is a tutor and Junior Fellow at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire
Tour assembles 1230 at Uckfield Station or 1330 at East Sussex National Hotel. Afternoon lecture: Fidelio followed by late afternoon performance at Glyndebourne: Beethoven Fidelio.
Morning lecture: The Rake’s Progress followed by visit to Charleston (modernist home and studio of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant). Late afternoon performance at Glyndebourne: Stravinsky The Rake’s Progress.
Morning lecture: Don Pasquale followed by visit to Bateman’s (former home of Rudyard Kipling) with guided tour of garden. Free afternoon. Evening performance at Glyndebourne: Donizetti Don Pasquale.
Tour disperses after breakfast at the hotel or c 1015 at Uckfield Station.
