Depart London Heathrow 1050 on British Airways, arriving Berlin 1345. Continue to Hotel Albrechtshof, Berlin, for five nights. Evening concert at the Philharmonie featuring the Staatskapelle Berlin: Beethoven Symphony No 6 in F major ‘Pastoral’, Symphony No 7 in A major.
Good Friday Morning lecture followed by coach orientation and guided architectural tour (exteriors): Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrichstrasse, Nikolaiviertel, Unter den Linden, the Reichstag, New Parliament buildings and Brandenburg Gate. Free afternoon. Evening performance at the Philharmonie featuring Sir András Schiff (piano): works by Mozart and Beethoven, including Beethoven Piano Sonata in A major, Op 101, and Piano Sonata in C minor, Op 111.
Morning lecture followed by guided visit to the Alte Nationalgalerie and free time to explore further museums on Museum Island. Afternoon boat trip past Museum Island. Evening performance at Berlin State Opera: Mozart Così fan tutte.
Easter Sunday Late morning concert at the Philharmonie featuring the Staatskapelle Berlin: Beethoven Symphony No 2 in D major, Symphony No 9 in D minor ‘Choral’. Afternoon: backstage tour of the State Opera House (subject to confirmation).
Morning lecture followed by excursion to Grunewald Hunting Lodge for guided tour. Some free time. Evening performance at Berlin State Opera: Mozart The Magic Flute.
Free morning followed by transfer to Berlin Airport for 1635 flight, arriving Heathrow 1730.

Please note that while this tour will not be particularly strenuous, participants should have a good level of general fitness and be comfortable exploring Berlin on foot. Some visits will involve traversing uneven ground.
