Depart London Heathrow 0855 on British Airways, arriving Munich 1150. Transfer to Passau and board MS Douce France. Welcome drink and introduction to the cruise. MS Douce France cruises to Melk.
Melk ‘Bach before breakfast’ followed by morning visit to Melk Abbey including guided tour and organ recital. Short stop in Durnstein, including organ recital in Durnstein Abbey, before MS Douce France cruises to Vienna. Evening lecture and piano recital with John Bryden.
Vienna ‘Bach before breakfast’ followed by visits in Vienna: Kunsthistorisches Museum and Hofburg Palace. MS Douce France cruises to Esztergom. Baroque flute recital with Ashley Solomon.
Esztergom ‘Bach before breakfast’ followed by morning lecture. Visits in Esztergom, including the basilica and treasury. Afternoon lecture as MS Douce France cruises to Budapest. Evening piano recital with John Bryden.
Budapest ‘Bach before breakfast’ followed by visits including Buda Hill Castle District. Evening recital with John Bryden and Emilie Capulet.
Further visits in Budapest including the Great Synagogue. Afternoon lecture on board as MS Douce France cruises to Bratislava, followed by lecture-recital with Emilie Capulet.
Bratislava Walking tour of Bratislava Old Town before MS Douce France cruises to Vienna. Afternoon lecture and free time.
Vienna Visit to the Belvedere Palace and evening performance at Vienna State Opera (subject to confirmation). MS Douce France cruises to Melk.
Melk Morning visit to Artstetten Castle (last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife). Afternoon song recital with Judy Brown (soprano) and Nicholas Wearne (piano) as MS Douce France cruises to Passau. Farewell gala dinner, with after dinner music.
Passau Transfer to Munich for 1620 departure, arriving Heathrow 1720.

This tour requires a good level of fitness, and participants must meet ACE’s usual fitness criteria, as found in our Booking Terms & Conditions. This tour is not envisaged to be especially strenuous, however participants should be comfortable walking over cobbles and occasionally uneven terrain, ascending steps, and standing in museums and galleries.
Our vessel is the MS Douce France, which has been completely refurbished to five-anchor standard (similar to a good four-star hotel standard). The MS Douce France has two decks and a sun deck. At 110 metres long, the ship has a total of 55 cabins.
Flights to and from Manchester International airport may be available upon request. Please enquire with the ACE office for further information.
For customers who wish to make their own travel arrangements, ACE is pleased to be able to offer a flight reduction of £170.
Cost of £3395 includes: return travel, accommodation based on sharing a twin cabin (main deck), breakfast, seven lunches, nine dinners with unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks, tea & coffee, shore excursions & admissions, musical performance in Vienna (subject to confirmation), gratuities.
Not included: travel insurance, upper deck twin cabin supplement of £250 per person, twin cabin for single use supplement of £600 for a main deck cabin or £1000 for an upper deck cabin. Further supplements available on request.
