Depart London Heathrow 1145 on British Airways, arriving Larnaca 1820. Transfer to Paphos for three nights at Amphora Hotel & Suites.
Morning lecture: Cyprus in Geography & History followed by visits to Archaeological Park in Paphos (Roman mosaics, Saranda Kolones medieval castle). Afternoon: Maa-Palaeokastro (Bronze Age settlement), Museum of Mycenaean Colonisation, Church of Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa and St Paul’s Pillar.
Morning in Paphos: Hellenistic ‘Tombs of the Kings’. Continue to Yeroskipou for Church of Agia Paraskevi (9th to 15th century frescoes) and Folk Art Museum. Afternoon in Kouklia (main site, museum, Persian siege-mound, medieval sugar cane mill).
Kourion archaeological site, Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates and stadium followed by Kolossi Castle (former headquarters of the Knights Hospitaller in Cyprus). Transfer to Limassol for three nights at the Curium Palace Hotel.
Morning: Amathous archaeological site, Limassol Castle (medieval museum). Afternoon: Limassol District Archaeological Museum. Evening lecture: Cypriot Artefacts & Art.
Morning: Church of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis near Kakopetria followed by churches of Panagia Podithou and Panagia Theotokos in Galata. Afternoon: Church of Panagia Phorviotissa at Asinou and Church of Panagia tou Arakos in Lagoudera (visits subject to confirmation).
Morning visits to Choirokoitia Neolithic settlement (UNESCO World Heritage site), Pano Lefkara (traditional lacemaking) and Lanarca District Archaeological Museum (subject to confirmation). Afternoon: Church of Agios Lazaros in Larnaca and Church of Panagia Angeloktisti in Kiti (time permitting). Transfer to Nicosia for four nights at Centrum Hotel.
Morning: Cyprus Museum, Byzantine Museum, Church of Agios Ioannis, House of Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios. Afternoon: Selimiye Mosque (formerly Cathedral of St Sophia), Bedesten (Church of St Nicholas – exterior) and Büyük Han (Ottoman caravanserai).
Northern Cyprus: St Hilarion Castle (mountaintop fortress) and Bellapais Abbey (probably the finest surviving Gothic monument in Cyprus). Afternoon: Kyrenia (castle and shipwreck museum).
Morning: ancient Greek city of Salamis. Afternoon in medieval Famagusta (citadel and walking tour followed by some free time).
Morning visits to Monastery of Agios Iraklidios in Politiko and Hala Sultan Tekke near Larnaca (burial place of Umm Haram, a close friend or relative of the Prophet Muhammad). Depart Larnaca 1440, arriving Heathrow 1745.

FITNESS / PRACTICALITIES
Please note that this tour requires a good level of fitness, as it will involve a moderate amount of walking and standing, including over uneven terrain at archaeological sites.
For customers who wish to make their own travel arrangements, ACE is pleased to be able to offer a flight reduction of £225.
