The chapel of the Bishops of Ely, known as St Etheldreda's Church, Ely Place, is one of the very few medieval buildings to survive in London and the only medieval church that remains in Catholic hands. In the first of a series of talks, Christopher Wellington explores the history of the chapel from John of Gaunt's speech in Shakespeare's Richard II to Antonio Rosmini and the Rosminian order in the 19th-century.
