ACE Tour Director and accomplished pianist John Bryden introduces Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13 in the latest video in our series of live performances from Stapleford Granary.
Beethoven's Sonata comes from the early part of his career, written and published at the very end of the eighteenth century, a time heavily influenced by by the Classical period. As John explores, the choice of C minor offers a vehicle for deeply emotive music full of meaning and remains one of Beethoven's most celebrated compositions.
