Depart London Heathrow 0855 on British Airways, arriving Athens 1435. Transfer to Hotel Herodion for overnight stay. Introductory talk.
Morning visit on foot to the new Acropolis Museum. Transfer to Samos by air, and continue to Hotel Fyto Aqua Blue for three nights. Evening talk: The Ancient Sanctuaries on Samos and Kos.
Morning visits to local sites. By coach to Lykourgos Castle and archaeological museum, followed by free time in picturesque Pythagoreion.
Visits to Heraion and the Efpalinion Orygma (tunnel). Continue to Vathy (capital) for archaeological museum. Evening talk: St John and Patmos.
Depart by ferry to Patmos. By coach to Chora for Cave of the Apocalypse, and to view Chora mansion houses and the fortified monastery of Agios Ioannis. Overnight stay at Hotel Skala, Patmos.
Depart by ferry for Kos: local visits, walk in old town to view Ottoman mosques and Art Deco buildings of the Italian occupation. Transfer to Hotel Alexandra for three nights.
Further visits in Kos including ancient agora, harbour, Casa Romana and archaeological museum.
Whole day excursion to the Asklepieion and Antimachia (15th century fortress). Continue to remote Kefalos area for scenic lunch (not included).
Morning: visit to Neratzia Fortress followed by free time. Transfer by coach to harbour and depart by ferry for Rhodes. Transfer to Hotel Plaza for three nights.
Visits in Rhodes medieval town on foot. Evening talk: Rhodes – from Colonists to Crusaders.
