Depart London Heathrow 0925 on British Airways, arriving Zurich 1220. Transfer to Mellau for seven nights at Hotel Kreuz. Orientation walking tour of Mellau followed by evening introductory lecture.
Morning lecture followed by visit to Rieger Orgelbau workshop and to Egg (spectacular views across the Vorarlberg mountains). Morning: depart by coach for Hohenems for guided tour of the Jewish Museum and visit to the Legge Museum. Afternoon chamber concert at the Kauffmann Hall featuring Artemis Quartet: Tchaikovsky String quartet in F major, Op 22; Schubert String quartet in D minor, D 810 ‘Der Tod und das Mädchen’. Evening song recital at the Kauffmann Hall featuring Martin Mitterrutzner (tenor) and Gerold Huber (piano): Schubert ‘Die schöne Müllerin’.

Afternoon piano recital at the Kauffmann Hall featuring Francesco Piemontesi: Schubert Four Impromptus, D 899, Sonata in D major, D 850. Evening song recital at the Kauffmann Hall featuring Violeta Urmana (mezzosoprano) and Helmut Deutsch (piano): songs by Schubert, Mahler and Richard Strauss.
Morning excursion to Lindau by coach and ferry followed by afternoon chamber concert at the Kauffmann Hall featuring Baiba Skride (violin), Lise Berthaud (viola), Harriet Krijgh (cello) and Lauma Skride (piano): Schubert Adagio and Rondo Concertane in F major for piano quartet, D 487; Josef Suk Piano quartet in A minor, Op 1; Brahms Piano quartet in A major, Op 26.
Morning excursion to north shore of Lake Constance, including visit to Birnau for Rococo pilgrimage church. Afternoon visit to Meersburg Old Castle before return to Mellau.
