Depart London Heathrow 0950 on Aer Lingus, arriving Dublin 1115. Via 12th century St Doulagh’s Church, Balgriffin, to Jurys Inn Christchurch Dublin Hotel for five nights. Afternoon: Christ Church Cathedral followed by St Audoen’s Churches. Evening introductory lecture.
Visits focusing on the 18th century including St Werburgh’s Church; St Michan’s Church, Church Street (organ used by Handel); visit and lunch at The Church, Mary Street (formerly St Mary’s Church); Chapel of the Rotunda, Maternity Hospital; Pro-Cathedral; Trinity College Chapel and Chapel Royal at Dublin Castle. Evening guest lecture: The Church followed by free evening.
Visits focusing on the 19th century: St Teresa’s Church; Carmelite Church; Newman University Church; St Patrick’s Cathedral (considerably restored during the 1860s) and St Nicholas of Myra.
Further visits focusing on the 19th century: St Andrew’s Church followed by St Bartholomew Church; Monkstown Church and visit to Dun Laoghaire for lunch and optional visit to National Maritime Museum of Ireland (housed in former Mariner’s Church). Free evening.
Visits focusing on the 20th century: St Mary’s Church and Capuchin Friary, Church Street; St Michan’s Church, Halston Street; St Saviour’s Church and Abbey Presbyterian Church. Afternoon excursion to Glasnevin Cemetery (chapels and mausoleums of noteworthy individuals).

Please be aware that this tour involves a significant amount of walking, and many of our visits will be made on foot and some by public transport. Participants will require a good level of fitness.
