John Redmill, DipArch, FRIAI
John is an English architect who moved to Dublin in 1978 after working for a leading conservation architect in London. He has subsequently worked and advised on many important historic buildings throughout Ireland. Between 1982 and 2007, he was Year Master, then Director of the Post-Graduate Building Conservation Course at the Architectural Association School in Bedford Square, London and remains an Advisor to the course. He is the Honorary Vice President of the Irish Georgian Society and, since 1990, Chairman of the Society’s London Chapter Committee and Trustees, and a Board member of the Irish Architectural Archive. He lectures frequently on various aspects of historic buildings, particularly Irish country houses of which he has a close knowledge, and has led many tours of historic buildings throughout Ireland and the UK.
